In terms of its disadvantages, by rooting, your warranty will automatically expire. And if you make a mistake in a custom system it is not uncommon to make bootloop android or even totally die. So I return it to you whether it needs rooting or not.
The way to root Xiaomi Mi 9 is more or less the same as the other Xiaomi root types, the only difference is the root file.
Ok, just continue before you root, you have to prepare some of the ingredients below:
- Download the SuperSU-v2.82-Xiaomi-Mi9.zip file and save it on the internal of your phone, let the format remain zipped.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 Root Process
First enter TWRP Xiaomi Mi 9 mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up + Power button. Then in the TWRP main menu select install.
Search where you saved the SuperSU-v2.82-Xiaomi-Mi9.zip file, then select and swipe confirm to install. Wait for the installation process to complete and then reboot the Xiaomi Mi 9.
If the root is successful, then you will find a new application called SuperSU, please update first through the playstore. Open the SuperSU application and when there is a SU binary update notification please select Normal Install then reboot after installing the Binary SU is complete.
Another way to root this Xiaomi Mi 9 can use the Magisk method like my previous article How to Root Android with Magisk Root.
